Job Description: The Town of Pinedale is seeking a highly motivated
and energetic person to run our Planning and Zoning Department. The
PLANNER is charged with assisting town staff and officials in managing
the rapid growth of our dynamic and rural community.
Essential Duties: Assist and review building and zoning
applications in a manner that facilitates the development process.
Prepare staff reports with recommendations for presentation to P &
Z Commission/ Town Council. Organize and maintain data records,
researching various records and resources as needed. Interpret and
apply town policies and procedures to development processes. Conduct
field visits for site approval as appropriate. Work with Town
officials and staff to identify and implement planning needs. Examples
may include EIS reviews; adjustments to comprehensive plans and zoning
laws; specially designed regulations, impact fee analysis, PUD's,
wetland protection laws, and etc. Maintain a comprehensive, current
knowledge of applicable laws/regulations. Prepare sophisticated
residential bulk regulations; introducing form-based zoning
regulations, GIS projects, etc.
Qualifications: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal
communication skills. Familiarity with development processes,
subdivision regulations, and zoning ordinances. Ability to
remain organized and work effectively without direct
supervision. Familiarity with GIS, mapping, drafting, and other
computer programs. Proficiency with word processing, database,
and spreadsheet applications. A Bachelor's degree in Planning or
a related field, 2-3 years experience, and a valid driver's license
are required. (Master's degree and AICP are preferred.)
Summary: As responsible for expanding a new building department,
the duties of this position will focus specifically on development
reviews and revamping the subdivision and zoning ordinance titles to
address modern-day growing pains.

The City of Gillette, population approximately 28,000, is located
in northern Campbell County, in the northeast corner of Wyoming.
Gillette is a rapidly growing, progressive community with a booming
